This route is curated to connect you with Mexico's mysticism across three distinct energies. You will experience the Cosmic/Galactic energy in Atlixco (famous for UFO sightings), the Ancestral/Shamanic energy in Catemaco (known for its healers), and the Ancient Mayan energy in Palenque and the Tzotzil communities. It is a journey of history, nature, and introspection.
Catemaco is a place of ancient Olmec traditions and herbal medicine. While it is famous for "brujos" (witches), the focus of our visit is on White Magic and healing. You will have the optional opportunity to receive a "Limpia" (energetic cleansing) from a Shaman to remove heavy energy, or simply enjoy the healing mud baths. It is a safe, fascinating look into indigenous spirituality.
This is often cited as the most intense spiritual experience of the trip. The church here practices a unique syncretism—a blend of Catholic and ancient Mayan beliefs. You will see pine needles on the floor, candles, and chanting in the Tzotzil language. It is a place of raw, living faith.
es. While this is a touring itinerary, there are moments of profound silence and connection, specifically at the Punto Marconi in Atlixco, the waterfalls of Eyipantla, and amidst the ruins of Palenque. We encourage you to use the travel time between cities for reflection.
We recommend "respectful comfort." Churches: When entering cathedrals in Puebla or indigenous temples, avoid very short shorts or tank tops. Catemaco/Nature: Bring a swimsuit for the mud baths and springs. Ruins (Palenque): Light, breathable cotton or linen is best for the heat, but sturdy walking shoes are a must.
Mexican cuisine is diverse. While the itinerary includes "American-style breakfasts," most hotels offer fruit, eggs, and cereals. For lunch and dinner (which are free time), you will find plenty of corn, bean, and vegetable-based options. Please let us know in advance so we can alert the guides.
This is a "Moderate" activity level trip. You should be comfortable walking on uneven cobblestone streets (Puebla/San Cristóbal) and climbing steps at archaeological sites (Palenque/Cholula). The climate will vary from the cool highlands of Puebla to the humid jungle of Chiapas, which can add to the physical exertion.
This is a one-way route that maximizes your time by not backtracking. The tour concludes at Villahermosa Airport (VSA). You should book your return flight from Villahermosa, not Veracruz or Puebla. If you wish to return to Mexico City by land, please ask us about the supplementary cost for a transfer.
ou will experience three distinct climates: Central Mexico (Puebla): Temperate/Cool (bring a light jacket). Gulf Coast (Veracruz/Catemaco): Hot and humid (bring light clothes/mosquito repellent). Highlands (San Cristóbal): Cold at night (bring a sweater). Jungle (Palenque): Very hot and humid.
The transport is private for our group, meaning we have the flexibility to move at our own pace within the itinerary schedule. This creates a more intimate container for the group's energy.
